Should New Cars Have CCTV?

As we elevate in technology so does the automobile sector, there are literally so many new vehicles that hit the market every single day, but none of them really do anything groundbreaking in their launch. There is one thing that I have always wondered why the car manufacturers do not implement and that is surveillance cameras in the actual vehicles.

We all know that we now have the technology in place to place un spottable cameras which a thief will not be able to spot. These cameras can then be uploaded onto a memory disk which will act as a storing point which can then be played back if there was a car theft.

Theft of used cars for sale are emphatically on the rise, even a news story that was broadcast only of late has declared that police officers are the worst perpetrator for taking things from unsecured cars. But its not how you think, the police officers were doing this because people leave their cars unlocked with valuable items in. So it is just showing them in plain action just how easy it can be to take.

Only the other day a close contact of mine got their car stolen and burnt out by some so called joy riders. Now this was quite an expensive vehicle and the people that did it got away with it all. Can you now imagine if this car was instead fitted with a digital surveillance device that saw these so called joyriders. The camera would basically work like a black box that you can find in an aeroplanes cockpit and record everything that has been happening in the vehicle for the last 24-48 hours. Although people may think that it is interfering with their privacy, it will save the economy a huge amount of money.
