In Britain it is safe to say that almost all of us hate traffic wardens simply because they seem to enjoy seeing other people suffer. It would seem that many councils have a new way to catch people who park illegally that is both unfair and has many flaws indeed.

Ghost Ticketing is quite a new idea but it is when the local council use their CCTV cameras and catch someone that is parked illegally and send the ticket off that way. They are looking to do this partly because hiring a private firm is expensive and partly because doing it this way gives them a higher chance to catch someone which of course in turn gives them more money.

Why is this a bad thing?

There seem to be several flaws to the method and the main one is, what if you are disabled? The councils already doing this have already stated that it is almost impossible to see if the person driving has a disabled badge or not which means many disabled people could actually be receiving parking fines for no reason. This is not fair at all for the person that is disabled, they then have to go out of their way to cancel the fine.

Aren’t These Meant For Crime Prevention?

With more focus on illegal parking surely less time is going to be spent looking out for criminal activity. It would be very interesting to see if the crime rates rise because of this.

Fair

It is hard for people to argue against this form of ticket because they will not even know about it until it comes through the letterbox. Surely this means that people are likely to actually forget the date and time, not fair if they actually had an excuse.

All of this is not going to help you when looking for bad credit car loans as well as cheap lease cars. Parking tickets do also not help when looking for specific deals like gap insurance.
